FREE TNR Class

Hi!

For everyone who is trying to make a difference here in the San Gabriel Valley, anyone who needs to learn to TNR and to network to meet other local feeder & trappers..... we've TNR'd over 2000 cats & kittens from April 2015 to date. We have prevented over 3 million births. Won't you join us?

Here is the flyer for The TNR Project Trap Training on Sunday, March 12th in Monrovia at 11:00AM. It is inserted here and attached so you can print it off. This is a FREE event. The link to register is also at the bottom of the email or you can go here to register so we have enough literature for everyone & a headcount:

TNR Class Registration

  • Email/share the flyer with everyone in your address books who's affiliated with cat rescue/TNR
  • Post on Yahoo Groups: LA Trappers, LA Feeders, SoCal Feline Rescue, other groups
  • Share with everyone asking for help who calls in for trapping/TNR
  • Share on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc)
  • Post in vets offices/starbucks/pet food stores (Centinela has community boards)
  • Post on neighborhood pages: patch.com, nextdoor.com, facebook city pages

The more people that join, the more cities we have coverage in, the more teams we have access to and the larger the FREE vanpool becomes. As we all know, we are GROUND ZERO with feral cats. We keep them out of the shelters (lowering intake & euthanasia rates), foster & adopt into homes (and off the streets) and shrinking colonies while educating people. We can't do it all alone...we NEED MORE HELP! This is the ONLY way to take shelters to no-kill status for cats.

I'm also asking our current group members to show up for the meet & greet. We can find out who is in our cities and teach tips/tricks. A lot of people have a ton of questions and I could really use the help from everyone who can. Come meet others who are making a difference and who can help!

Current Cities Being Helped By Volunteers Are:

Arcadia - Altadena - Alhambra - Avocado Heights - Azusa - Baldwin Park - Bradbury - Chino - Chino Hills - Covina - Duarte - Eagle Rock - El Monte - Glendale - Highland Park - Irwindale - La Puente- Pasadena - South Pasadena - Monrovia - Monterey Park - Ontario - Pomona - Pico Rivera - Placentia - Rosemead - Rowland Heights - San Gabriel - Sierra Madre - Temple City - West Covina - Whittier

The more people who join and learn to TNR, the more cities that can be helped thereby helping the kitties much quicker!

We also refer people needing TNR to  Luxe Paws who services: Los Feliz, Echo Park & Silverlake. (Look them up on Facebook!)

Meet Dona Cosgrove Baker, President and Founder of Feral Cat Caretakers' Coalition, a non profit 501c3, founded in 2000.

In 2005 Dona pioneered the first  of (11) ongoing Community Cat Workshops in Los Angeles, CA, teaching TNR with managed care upon return.

Feral Cat Caretakers' Coalition's Mission is to prevent suffering, save lives, implement successful TNR programs and reduce the intake of feral cats and kittens into the shelter system.  Our "one of a kind" Community Cat Workshops and programs, provide the hands-on experience and humane methods essential to these goals!

Dona has continued teaching and promoting the importance of TNR as well as the necessity for humane managed care of feral cats upon return.  FCCC is a dedicated advocate for feral cats and their caretakers who play a significant role in the success of TNR programs!

FCCC is an all volunteer 501c3 ID95-4781600 non-profit that rescues, manages and feeds untold numbers of community cats and kittens.

Best Friends Catnippers TNR Clinic: Volunteer or TNR!

Catnippers is an all-volunteer, bi-monthly program that allows individuals to work hands-on to spay and neuter approximately one hundred feral cats.  This “MASH-style” clinic has been operated by FixNation for nearly 10 years without fail!  Volunteers, both skilled veterinary professionals and unskilled animal lovers, are always welcome.  The TNR Project really recommends that you volunteer at least once at one of these events. It is an invaluable source of education if you TNR! See how it's done, how it works, the preparation all the way through to completion & recovery! Be a part of the solution! Everyone is welcome!

Best Friends Catnippers dates:

Sunday, May 15
Sunday, July 10
Sunday, September 18
Sunday, November 13
All clinics will be held at FixNation, 7680 Clybourn Ave., L.A., 91352.

An initial application and reservations are required in advance. Please do not bring cats to the clinic without a confirmed reservation. To complete a Feral Cat Application, click here. Please specify in the application that you are interested in Catnippers reservations.

If you are one of our regular caregivers and have been to either FixNation or Catnippers before with feral cats, please email Ivy Ramirez for reservations at appointments@fixnation.org.

Our Catnippers clinics are specifically dedicated to feral cats and kittens. All cats coming to the Catnippers clinics are required to be homeless, feral or stray and will be eartipped. Tame cats and kittens should be scheduled through FixNation during normal business hours.

Our Catnippers clinics are staffed entirely by volunteers, including volunteer licensed vets and vet techs. We are always on the lookout for new volunteers to join our team. If you are interested in volunteering for an upcoming Catnippers clinic, please email Carol Long, our Catnippers Volunteer Coordinator, at Carol@fixnation.org.
